Operating error on a VMware ESXI server!
A software publisher based in London contacted us on Tuesday at 9pm.
He's hosting customer data and wants everything to restart on Friday.
Following a problem configuring the size of a virtual disk under Vmware, his system stops booting and he no longer has access to the datastores.
He had just increased the size of the virtual disk from 1 to 1.5 TB.
We received 8 x 1TB Dell SSD NVME (U2 connector) disks from the hosting company Hostinger. The server is a DELL R640 server rack on which a Vmware ESXI 7.2 server is installed.
They don't have a backup!
Within 48 hours, we find all the virtual machines that were stored in the datastores and the SQL 2019 databases of over 300 GB. The sparse files are integrated with vbk orginianl to obtain the data from the last backup.
